Job Introduction
Working alongside the Head of Shared Services, your main responsibility will be to manage the Accounts Payable team to ensure invoices are efficiently and accurately processed and paid on time.
Please note this is a full-time, temporary position for 12 months to cover maternity leave.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage relationships with suppliers and divisional customers of the SSC, including playing an active role in promoting adherence to the purchasing policy, balanced with having the flexibility to cater for urgent business needs.
- Effectively lead and develop the team to ensure a high level of service to the business by setting achievable KPIs, carrying out Performance and Development reviews on a regular basis, and ensuring individuals are trained and supported to be able to carry out their roles.
- Provide day to day support for AP Controllers to ensure all processes are performed accurately to standard procedures and service level agreements.
- Prioritise and monitor resources to maintain effective control measures and deliver best-in-class service by identifying process improvement opportunities and ensuring effective project management and KPI tracking as agreed with Head of SSC, for example query discovery and resolution speed, unallocated cash reduction.
- Oversee effectiveness of the team in terms of payments on time, invoice backlog, and unallocated cash reduction.
- Ensure timely, accurate and proper completion of all Accounts Payable activities, including verification and review of third-party deliverables.
- Provide timely and accurate financial information to internal and external customers
- Ensure appropriate department procedures are maintained, updated and documented
When considered necessary or appropriate by management you may be required to carry out any duties considered within your skill and competence to assist the smooth running of the business.

- Experience of managing an Accounts Payable team
- Ability to work independently on your own initiative and take ownership
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work across departments
- Continuous improvement mindset
- Excellent attention to detail
- Competency in Microsoft Excel.
