About The Role

Covering the Newcastle/Gateshead/Carlisle area we’re looking for a results-driven Area Sales Manager to join our regional sales team, reporting to the Senior Area Sales Manager. Your focus will be to win new business, grow existing accounts and build lasting relationships that drive both revenue and profit. This is a field-based role covering Newcastle/Gateshead/Carlisle, so you’ll be out meeting prospects, visiting customer sites, all whilst working closely with our local operations teams to deliver exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Identify and secure new business opportunities across targeted sectors using market intelligence and networking
  • Convert leads into active accounts, maximising spends and building strong customer loyalty
  • Develop existing accounts, ensuring pricing is competitive and aligned to business guidelines
  • Work closely with Sales and Operations colleagues to share leads, coordinate activity, and deliver a joined-up customer experience
  • Keep the CRM system updated with all sales activity to ensure accurate reporting and forecasting
  • Monitor performance through sales KPIs, spotting opportunities for growth and taking action to achieve revenue and profit targets
  • Build professional relationships at all levels with customers, suppliers, and internal teams
  • Support credit control by helping to resolve any payment issues promptly


What We’re Looking For 

  • Proven track record in securing and growing accounts in a B2B environment
  • Experience in presenting commercial proposals to senior decision-makers
  • Strong networking and relationship-building skills with a consultative sales approach
  • Highly motivated, resilient, and target-focused, with a positive “can-do” attitude
  • Commercially astute with the ability to analyse data and make evidence-based decisions
  • Confident communicator and presenter, able to adapt style to suit the audience
  • Competent IT user with experience of CRM systems and Microsoft Office
  • Full UK driving licence and comfortable travelling across the Newcastle/Gateshead/Carlisle region
