Job Introduction
This is a part time role, 12 hours per week for 12 months (Fixed Term Contract)
The Category Manager is responsible for maintaining and building relationships with current and potential suppliers. Conducting market research to identify potential suppliers to evolve our product portfolio. Overseeing the development and growth of specific TMI Product Categories, working with key stakeholders: Operations, Business Development, Marketing, Asset Management, Procurement etc. and key customers, identifying rental solutions and services that meet future needs. Developing and justifying strategic plans to increase revenue, by maintaining and increasing market share.
Key Responsibilities
- Review existing fleet and develop a plan to optimise, broaden and deepen the existing fleet.
- Manage effectively the ‘slow moving’ hire fleet.
- Researched and identify and all strategic market opportunities and propose ‘go to” market strategy proposals & execution plans.
- Maintain and build relationships with all key suppliers.
- Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels.
- Obtain sales team / Customer feedback and apply to category management activity.
- Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company’s go to market propositions and differentiators in collaboration with marketing.
- Work with our marketing team to effectively promote the organisation through targeted local and national campaigns including social media.
- Obtain, review and provide Asset data to the Operations team to inform day to day activity.
- Identify Operational training and equipment to allow T&R of new products.
- Support product DOP process with all essential information.
- Work closely with Asset Management to support all CAPEX requests and assess / use all relevant data to support business decisions.
- Provide all relevant information regarding procurement, maintenance and trade-in options for existing and new products.
- Create, develop and maintain procedures documenting all Category Management processes
What We’re Looking For
- Demonstrate significant experience in the Hire sector, Test and Measurement industry or equivalent
- Technical background: Electro / Mechanical / Process etc
- Educated to relevant level / equivalent experience
- Management / Leadership experience
- Competent IT Skills.
- Valid driving licence
- An electronic, mechanical or engineering qualification - Desirable.
- Practical, application experience of using equipment - Desirable
- Manufacturer training desirable but not essential – Desirable
