Job Introduction
We have an exciting new opportunity for a Depot Supervisor to join our established depot in Swindon. Working Monday to Friday you’ll supervise a team of operators to carry out a variety of tasks in the depot as well as carry out your own daily duties. Working hours are 7am-5pm with two 30-minute breaks throughout the day. Occasional overtime may also be available at weekends.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily briefing, planning, adhering to and applying safety regulations
- Liaising with and implementing operations from management
- Basic office and administration duties
- Operating a forklift truck and shunting HGVs, or willing to learn as this is a mandatory requirement for general duties
- Taking responsibility for security and safety of the depot and filling in when management is absent
- Customer service - dealing directly with suppliers and work colleagues
What We’re Looking For
- Full and valid UK driving license (mandatory)
- Previous supervisory experience within a similar role
- Knowledge of the hire and construction industry or familiar with trackway and rail products
- Willing to work in all weathers
- A positive attitude to the workload and schedules and work well under pressure
- Willing to undergo any training that may be requested
- IT literate and holds a good understanding of Microsoft packages, e.g., Excel, Word etc.
- Excellent organisational skills & ability to prioritise
- Key verbal and communication skills
- Holds a Forklift truck/Telehandler ticket or be willing to undergo training for this.
- Desirable extras include CSCS, Banksman, Hiab and crane operators certifications, or be willing to undergo training for these
