Digital Engineering Technician Trainee

As a Trainee, you will focus on developing your skills in pioneering areas of automated digital design and engineering. You might currently be studying Engineering, or similar, or be someone with a passion for Engineering, who is now looking to apply your learning or interest in practice.
You will bring a fresh, modern approach and enthusiasm into a fast growing area of commercial engineering.

Key Responsibilities 

  • This is a highly varied role that will focus on projects that introduce pioneering new technologies and systems to the engineering team. Your responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
  • Assist the digital engineering lead in creating and managing digital assets including Autodesk Revit families, digital documents and worksheets, and program data.
  • Assist in the programming and maintenance of automated design systems.
  • Support the production of new tools and software for the technical team to drive efficiencies and save time.
  • Assist in production of standard documents and libraries to accompany automated tools.
  • Engage in meetings with Engineering, Marketing, Systems, and Operations teams to understand and document the needs of other teams and collaborate on projects to deliver on those needs.
  • The role will focus on accomplishing tasks and milestones aiming towards completing specific projects according to a regularly updated departmental development plan. This means that work will be novel and varied which will require creative thinking and adaptability.

What We’re Looking For 

You will have a good grasp of digital technologies including:-

  • Microsoft Office, in particular Microsoft Excel (Required)
  • Autodesk AutoCAD and Revit (Desirable)
  • Dynamo for Autodesk Revit (Desirable)
  • C# / VB / Python or other applicable programming languages (Desirable)
  • Ready to invest time and energy into your own personal development and learning
  • An enthusiastic early adopter of new technologies
  • A keen problem solver with the ability to confidently make decisions
  • An excellent planner, and be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Focussed on excellence and take pride in your work
