Job Introduction
As a Finance Business Partner, you will support the Head of Commercial Finance in delivering an effective and holistic financial business-partnering service, driving business performance through providing pro-active, self-driven, value-add analysis and help focus the business on areas of opportunity.
Predominantly, you will be partnering the sales team and will play a critical role in driving commercial performance by aligning financial insights with both the sales & wider business strategy. You will work closely with the whole sales team, including the Sales Director, to provide strategic financial planning, performance analysis, and decision support that enhances revenue growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Play a key part in preparing, obtaining information for and enhancing the accuracy of budgeting, forecasting, and any other financial planning.
- Develop financial models to evaluate performance and margin optimisation, following up by providing actionable insights to drive improvements.
- Support and drive pricing strategies, project tracking, and customer profitability analysis.
- Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships whilst enhancing financial awareness and ownership of business and /or departmental performance.
- Report findings, make recommendations and develop action plans for improvements. This includes process improvements and plans for continual monitoring.
- Develop and continually update business KPIs.
- Ensures regular financial and operational information is distributed to stakeholders.
- To assist with any acquisition / strategic investment e.g. building business cases to assess financial viability, perform due diligence and ensure operational integration.
- Support finance contribution to divisional / departmental meetings & senior team reviews.
- Delegate work as appropriate to the Commercial Finance Analyst.
- Drive improvements around automation of financial data & processes, including incorporation into BI tools.
- Ensure appropriate department procedures are maintained, updated and documented.
What We’re Looking For
- Qualified accountant (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
- Proven experience in FP&A or commercial finance roles.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, both written and oral.
- Experience of working effectively during periods of organisational change.
- Strong financial modelling and analytical skills.
- Passionate about driving business change and adding value.
- Ambitious, driven and able to work successfully on own initiative.
- Proven ability to manage deadlines and concurrent challenges effectively.
- Proven IT skills, utilising various systems and reporting platforms.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
