Hire Controller

Job Introduction

This is an exciting opportunity for a Hire Controller to join our growing hire desk and provide full support in all areas of internal sales, including customer service and hire transactions. You will work closely with all members of the internal sales team to achieve pre-determined business objectives and you’ll be the first line of contact for customers, over email and on the telephone, so customer service skills and an excellent phone manner is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Be the first line of contact for customers by email & on the telephone. 
• Respond to all customer enquiries in a timely manner. 
• Performs all aspects of product hire transactions. 
• Delivers all daily objectives, working to firm deadlines. 
• Must be a team player - contributing to the team, proactively shares information with all colleagues. 
• Requires a strong communicator - both verbally and in writing. 
• Will receive training for all relevant ESSential, Core and Extended products. 
• Will receive training for all relevant Vp plc systems (G42) etc. When considered necessary or appropriate by management you may be required to carry out any duties considered within your skill and competence to assist the smooth running of the business. 

What We’re Looking For

• Good Maths & English
• Competent IT Skills: Microsoft packages: Outlook/Excel/Word/PowerPoint 
• Experience of customer service either face to face or on the telephone 
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy 
• Be confident when dealing with customers on the telephone and communicating with people of all levels of the business 
• Ability to prioritise your workload so all duties are done to the highest standard to maximise profitable hires and sales Desirable but not essential 
• Knowledge of hire industry
• Knowledge of equipment (Safety, Survey, Communications, Test & Measurement) – beneficial 
• Valid driving licence
