Job Introduction
Up to four nights away per week may be required for this opportunity.
We currently have an opening for a Class 1 LGV (HGV) Driver to join our team, providing full support to the depot in the safe delivery and collection of Groundforce and associated Vp business products.
This role requires regular nights away from home, sleeping in the cab for four nights per week. You will leave on Monday morning and return on Friday, ensuring deliveries and collections are made efficiently and safely. There is no weekend work involved.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all transport-related transactions are completed efficiently, accurately, and in line with company policies, procedures, and customer requirements.
- Deliver and collect equipment to and from customers, suppliers, and other Vp businesses professionally, safely, and on time.
- Provide exceptional customer service while representing the company on-site and on the road.
- Adhere to all driver regulations and legislative requirements to ensure safety and compliance.
- Maintain the cleanliness and safety of your vehicle, conducting daily checks before starting your journey.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Valid full clean driving licence
- Class 1 (LGV/HGV) Licence
- Certificate of Professional Competence (Driver CPC)
- Digital tachograph card
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable staying away from home Monday to Friday, sleeping in the cab for four nights per week
Advantageous:
- Knowledge of the local and regional geographical area
- Experience delivering/collecting heavy goods to construction sites
- Working knowledge of the construction, housing, or civil engineering industry
