Mechanic (Access Plant)

Job Introduction

You’ll be hands-on trusted and experienced mechanic working on our access machinery – from Diesel and electric Boom Lifts, Scissor Lifts, Spider Crawlers to Vertical lifts – carrying out maintenance, servicing, and repairs to the highest standard, whether in our depot or out on customer sites. With your expertise, every machine will perform at peak efficiency. You’ll also play a key role in ensuring essential parts and spares are ordered promptly, helping us deliver fast, reliable solutions every time.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare equipment for hire, both in the depot and at customer sites
• Inspect, service, and repair access fleet hire equipment and depot assets
• Attend customer sites to inspect, service and repair equipment safely, as and when required
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date service and inspection records
• Identify and record damage to out-of-service equipment
• Promote a positive approach to Health, Safety, and the Environment, reporting any issues to your line manager
• Keep the working environment clean, tidy, and well-organised
• Perform other duties within your skills and competence as required to support smooth business operations

What We’re Looking For

• Proven mechanical or engineering background with a wealth of experience in Access Machinery (Diesel and electric Boom Lifts, Scissor Lifts, Spider Crawlers to Vertical lifts)
• A recognised qualification in mechanical plant or agricultural engineering
• Ability to complete records, paperwork accurately is essential 
• Access fleet knowledge and ability to fault find is essential
• A reasonable level of fitness is required
• To be flexible, trustworthy and reliable and have excellent time keeping skills is essential
• Valid full driving licence
