Mechanic (Plant)

Job Introduction

You’ll be hands-on mechanic working on our plant machinery – from Mini Diggers, Dumpers, Forklifts and Telehandlers – carrying out maintenance, servicing, and repairs to the highest standard, whether in our depot or out on customer sites. With your expertise, every machine will perform at peak efficiency. You’ll also play a key role in ensuring essential parts and spares are ordered promptly, helping us deliver fast, reliable solutions every time.


Key Responsibilities 

  • Prepare equipment in the depot ready for hire
  • Inspect, service, maintain and repair plant machinery and depot assets to the highest standard
  • Attend equipment breakdowns on customer sites to carry out safe and effective repairs as and when needed
  • Maintain accurate service and inspection records at all times
  • Identify and record damage on out-of-service equipment
  • Promote Health, Safety, and Environmental standards, reporting any issues to your line manager
  • Keep your work area clean, tidy, and well-maintained
  • Carry out additional duties within your skills and competence as required to support the smooth running of the business


What We’re Looking For 

  • A proven mechanical or engineering background 
  • A recognised qualification in mechanical plant or agricultural engineering 
  • Good Mechanical Aptitude, with a hand’s on approach
  • Ability to complete records, paperwork accurately is essential 
  • Plant machinery knowledge and ability to fault find is essential
  • A reasonable level of fitness is required due to the physical nature of the work
  • To be flexible, trustworthy and reliable and have excellent time keeping skills is essential
  • Valid full driving licence
