Job Introduction
We are looking to expand our Safety Service Technician team to support our growing servicing function. If you have some experience in making kit ready for hire or are willing to learn, we would like to talk to you.
As a Service Technician (Safety) you will be required to work on a large variety of safety equipment. Specifically, this can include equipment that is used in lifesaving activities such as fall arrest, confined spaces, gas detection and breathing air, including trailers.
Key Responsibilities
- Test and run safety equipment in line with OEM requirements
- Service and repair equipment in line with manufacture’s guidelines
- Repair damaged equipment
- Use internal software to record servicing activity and consumption of spare parts
- Ensure the correct and safe use of all tools supplied by the company
- To ensure the safety of the customer and employees at all times
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with Health & Safety guidelines and pre-agreed work programme, ensuring the plan is adhered to and meets customer requirements.
- At all times, behave in a way that protects the image of the company, presenting both yourself and your vehicle in a professional manner
- When considered necessary or appropriate by the company you may be required to carry out any duties considered within your skill and competence to assist the smooth running of the business.
What We’re Looking For
- Ability to assess whether equipment can be made available for hire in a cost-effective way
- Able to fleet new equipment and complete PDI on saleable equipment
- Awareness of third-party processes and can identify equipment that cannot be serviced or repaired in-house
- Ability to make accurate assessments of time required to complete test and run activity
- Able to accurately record spare parts used in servicing and ensure serviced equipment is in the correct system status
- Basic maths and English
- Strong timekeeping
- Previous experience in basic test and run – beneficial
- Awareness of equipment serviced by Groundforce Safety – beneficial
