1st Line IT Helpdesk Controller

Job Introduction

Reporting to the IT Helpdesk Team Leader your responsibilities will include providing local and remote 1st line support for all end users.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Delivering customer contact/care (both face-to-face and via the telephone) providing 1st line desktop support.
  • Installing and troubleshooting MS Windows 7, and of MS Office Packages and network printers.
  • With your general networking knowledge of TCP/IP V4 in relation to address scheme, routing, troubleshooting, wireless set-up you will provide support across our UK group of companies 
  • Proactively supporting individuals in a positive and professional manner at all times.
  • To succeed in the role you would be advantageous to hold a HND or HNC qualified (related to IT) and preferably you will be A+ and Network+ qualified as well as MCP qualification.
  • Ideally you should have previous experience of customer care in an IT helpdesk function and excellent telephone communication skills when working with our internal customers.

What We’re Looking For 
  • Experience supporting network printers.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Active Directory (administration).
  • Basic general networking knowledge, specifically Basic understanding of LAN networks to include cat5e cabling and patch panels.  
  • Prior knowledge of telecoms PABX/Telephone systems is advantageous but not essential.
  • Full clean UK driving licence.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to make informed decisions unsupervised according to our business processes.
  • Ability to escalate appropriately. 
  • Ability to prioritise workload accordingly. 
  • Experience installing & troubleshooting MS Windows 10/11
  • Experience of MS Office Packages from 2016 through to 2021 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Access). 
  • Willingness to learn and build on existing knowledge
