Job Introduction
The Commercial Analyst will play a key role in providing insightful analysis and reporting to support strategic decision-making and to drive business performance. The role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including KPI reporting, data analysis, process automation and support for key financial and commercial activities such as budgeting, forecasting and pricing. The Commercial Analyst will also contribute to data quality improvements, ensuring accurate and reliable information for the business, plus various ad hoc activities and project work as required.
Key Responsibilities
KPI Reporting and Analysis:
- Develop comprehensive KPI dashboards and reports to track business performance against targets.
- Provide ad-hoc analysis to stakeholders when required.
- Assist with analysis for different business initiatives when required.
Support Market and Customer Insight
- Support sales team with market and customer analysis
- Provide analysis for reviewing pipeline forecast and pricing.
Reporting Automation & Data Quality:
- Identify and implement opportunities for automation in reporting processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Develop and maintain data quality checks and processes to ensure the integrity of business data.
- Troubleshoot data anomalies and implement corrective actions.
- Work closely with Group Data team and supporting wider group initiatives.
Budgeting and Forecasting Support:
- Assist with the annual budget, and monthly forecasts, including supporting in the development of models
When considered necessary or appropriate by management you may be required to carry out any duties considered within your skill and competence to assist the smooth running of the business.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, a related field or relevant experience in a similar role
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques, e.g. Excel, SQL, Power BI, Alteryx, Tableau (beneficial but full training provided)
- Experience with report automation and data visualisation
- Ability to effectively communicate with people across all levels
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Understanding of financial principles and concepts
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proactive and results oriented
- Highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities
- Strong work ethic and commitment to continuous improvement
- Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders
