Job Introduction
Working closely with the Managing Director, your primary responsibility is to lead the transition, development, and global expansion of the Major Projects division within Groundforce. The role will initially relocate key assets and operations from Germany to the UK, disposing of any non-required equipment, and establishing a strong operational foundation under Groundforce’s UK arm. Once established, this role will drive Major Project growth across the UK and EU, expanding into global markets such as the Middle East. This role covers full ownership of operations, sales, commercial management, and the hire process for all Groundforce’s Major Projects activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic relocation of the Major Projects division from Germany to the UK, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Manage the disposal or sale of redundant assets during the transition process.
- Develop and implement a structured operational, sales, and commercial framework for the Major Projects division under the UK business.
- Define and execute a growth strategy for the division across the UK and European markets.
- Oversee the full hire process for Major Projects, ensuring alignment with Groundforce standards and client expectations.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to develop long-term global expansion plans, targeting regions such as the Middle East.
- Build and lead a high-performing team to support division objectives, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and innovation.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, legal, and regulatory requirements across all regions of operation.
- Regularly report on division performance, risks, and opportunities to the Managing Director and broader leadership team.
- Represent Groundforce Major Projects at industry events, client meetings, and strategic forums to build market presence and identify new business opportunities.
- When considered necessary or appropriate by management you may be required to carry out any duties considered within your skill and competence to assist the smooth running of the business.
The Ideal Candidate
- Proven experience in leading major projects across international markets.
- Strong track record in strategic operations, commercial oversight, and sales leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully manage business transitions, relocations, or large-scale change initiatives.
- Exceptional leadership and team-building skills, with experience managing cross-functional teams.
- Comfortable working at a strategic level while also being hands-on in early stages of the role.
- Highly organised with a structured, process-driven approach to execution.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including at senior leadership and client levels.
- Willingness and ability to travel globally as required.
