Purchasing Supervisor

Job Introduction

The Purchasing Supervisor will supervise and work as part of the procurement team facilitating the purchase of assets, resale, spares and consumables. In turn you will support all activities within the procurement function such as new supplier on-boarding, system pricing updates and tendering activity.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Supervise and support all company purchasing activity 
  • Ensure the purchase order authorisation process has been followed 
  • Make sure that all purchase orders are placed through approved suppliers at agreed rate
  • Support product sourcing 
  • Ensure that all purchase orders are progressed in a timely manor 
  • Ensure existing stock is utilised prior to progressing a new purchase  
  • Supervise the processing of all enquiries and quotations in a timely manor 
  • Ensure all data creation/change requests are reviewed 
  • Maintain the supplier pricing database
  • Suggest process and system changes including the benefits and implementation process/timeline
  • Assist the Asset team with all aspects of the company stock check process
  • Support the administration of supplier tendering activities including the implementation and management of new agreements
  • Support Supplier meetings ensuring resulting actions are concluded 
  • Support supplier KPI and rebate data collection 
  • Provide clear, concise and meaningful KPI’s to the wider business on a monthly basis

What We’re Looking For 

  • Previous Purchasing experience essential
  • Ability to understand, analyse and report on business information making data driven decisions 
  • Experience of procurement within the plant & tool hire industry or associated areas an advantage
  • Knowledge, understanding and experience of managing a team
  • Excellent administration and organisational skills
  • Proven record of supervisory roles within procurement
  • Experience of procurement within the plant & tool hire industry or associated areas an advantage
  • Good IT skills particularly Excel
