Senior Hire Controller

Job Introduction

Role Description

Reporting into the Hire Manager and assisting with gathering and collating management information. Ensure the hire desk team are efficiently completing all hire transactions and admin tasks in line with company procedure and to the highest standard of customer service. Assist in the development of the wider team members. 
 
Key Responsibilities

  • Develop effective working relationships with customers to ensure optimum service levels are achieved while delivering effective customer service
  • Ensure Hire Transactions are managed and administered effectively and objectives set are met in line with the departmental performance.
  • Provide assistance for your direct reports if any issues occur that require your involvement and manage the team to ensure all revenue opportunities i.e. transport, C.I & Repair costs are maximised.
  • Assist the management of the team in terms of training & development
  • Assist the hire desk with day-to-day duties as and when required so the business requirements are met.
  • Ensure that all opportunities to proactively promote associated Groundforce products & services are maximised along with the regional hire revenues 
  • Implement the division’s pricing policy and cost control.
  • Develop and implement team appraisals with clear measures and targets to improve performance including personal development plans using the training & development matrix.
  • Assist the business in the preparation for stock takes
  • Ensure the service and repair process is being followed effectively.
  • Ensure the team’s knowledge of all equipment is reviewed regularly keeping up to date with all changes to new and existing equipment.
  • Foster an environment of good communication between Sales, Operations, Plant, and other divisions.
  • When it is considered necessary or appropriate by management, you may be required to carry out any duties within your skill and competence to assist the smooth running of the business, provide cover at other branches, attend training courses, visit clients and suppliers, attend meetings, and assist with stock takes

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience in customer service is a must
  • Telephone skills are crucial
  • Basic numeracy & literacy skills 
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Team Player with an aptitude to learn and a desire to progress
  • Management experience desirable but not essential
  • Knowledge of Hire industry desirable but not essential
  • Knowledge of equipment desirable not essential
  • Knowledge of geographical area desirable not essential
