Who is Airpac Rentals and what do we do?
We are the energy industry division of rental specialist Vp plc. We specialise in supporting the energy industry with the provision of air compressors, steam generators, steam heat exchangers, sand filters and various ancillary items. Our operations span the globe in support of our client projects, our head office and workshop is located in a modern, purpose built facility in Kintore, Aberdeenshire.
Your Apprenticeship programme will last 4 years and will look like this
- Year 1: You will undertake basic tasks such as inspecting various pieces of equipment with your workshop mentor guiding you through this. You will attend NESCol (North East of Scotland College) on a day release basis studying for a Performing Engineering Operations level 2
- Year 2: You will build upon what you have learnt so far. You will diagnose faults and repair and service various pieces of equipment. You will continue to attend college on day release working towards obtaining level 5 National Certificate
- Year 3: This will see you having more responsibility where you will advise on repairs to equipment returned by customers. You will be able to diagnose complex faults and carry out repairs. You will continue attending college on a day release to complete National Certificate Level 5/6, and also begin with work based projects for your level 3
- Year 4: We will continue to build your experience within the workshop, working to complete Level 3, and you will be issued a job card and will be expected to complete this on the asset having it fully prepared and ready for hire. All maintenance aspects must be completed to a high standard and service records completed

We offer a competitive starting annual salary of £16,120 in your first year, which will rise each year on successful completion of the apprenticeship milestones. Along with on-the-job training and development at college leading to a nationally recognised qualification. On successful completion and qualification a permanent position is guaranteed.

Qualifications Required:
- A minimum of Grade 4 in both GCSE Maths and English Language or Scottish Highers in Grade 5 or above in Maths and English Language is essential
- Good communication skills
- The ability to work well within a team
- Any relevant work experience
- A genuine interest in equipment maintenance
